Good Recipes Anyone?
Well lets admit it... I am not the best cook there is! I know it and that is OK. So I was hoping that I could get a little help in this department. If anyone has any favorite dinner recipes that they would like to share I would be very grateful. I can tell that my husband is getting a little tired of the same old same old. Who could blame him when my specialty is spaghetti! HAHA. Seriously though if you all could help me out that would be wonderful. Thanks!

I am on it! I love to cook...and I like trying new things. I will write you some of our favorites down. Also, do you have a crock pot? I love love love ours...
Looking so forward to seeing you my friend!
One of my old standbys that Seth loves is Chicken Taco Soup. Just cook some chicken (however is easiest, boil it, broil it, grill it whatever) cut it into chunks (you can also just buy a pouch of cooked chicken) throw it in a pot with one lg can of Chicken and Rice soup, add a can of water after you dump the soup in, add one can of Rotel tomatoes and one can of corn with the water and two cans of Texas Style beans. Let it simmer for as long as you have or just until it's hot. So easy and really good. We usually top it with cheese and fritos or tortilla chips.
I've got a few that are SUPER easy and WAY yummy! I'll email them to you!
I have a ton of recipes for you :) If you go to my blog and click on recipes on the sidebar...there is a great chicken and broccoli one. We love that one, it tastes like Chinese take out. Also, if you don't own any of the gooseberry patch cookbooks you should buy some, they are great. (You can get them on Amazon)
We need to get together now that I live here again! When could you hang out?
Thanks for all the good ideas!
Anna~

Thanks for the recipe! It looks so yummy and i am sure Mitch will love it!
I got the new Martha Stewart cooking lessons book for Christmas - not a bad price at Costco. I love it because it's not so much about recipes (although it does have good ones), but it's more about cooking lessons - and on any food item/topic. It tells you all about how to cook different types of meats in different ways, and then the same for different vegetables, etc. I use the internet a lot too; foodnetwork.com, epicurious.com (a little more gourmet though sometimes), and just googling. Like say you have chicken, canned chili's and enchilada sauce, you could google chicken enchiladas to see what else various recipes call for that you might need & what one looks good & which one matches your ingredients at home the most. That's probably self explanatory, but I find it helpful when I don't have much of a meal plan but have various random foods on hand - just googling with a list of 2 or 3 ingredients in the search engine or actually googling a dish I have in mind.
It's nice to have at least one or two basic all inclusive cook books on hand too; maybe Better Homes & Gardens or 'The Gourmet Cookbook' is one that someone gave me (from Williams Sonoma I think) that I love! - It informs me so much on whatever I am making and it gives a variety of recipes for all sorts of meats, vegetables, etc.
I'm sure you're great, but I love that you just said - I know it, and it's ok - haha.
We like to have various types of pasta dishes, tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, taco soup too, pork tenderloin sometimes, crock pot beef roasts, chicken breasts cooked in Italian or Greek salad dressings with onion & garlic added, etc.
We still want to do dinner with you guys - we should & then we can plan what to cook and do it together/get ideas from each other or something!
Do you ever watch cooking shows? Those are fun for ideas too.
Hope I didn't type too much!
I love some food blogs- picky palate, a link on my side bar, is a favorite! My kids ask for picky palate recipes. Also, I do a few things to make things easy. I precook chicken breasts (buy on the bone - it is more tender and when cooked, will fall off the bone.) then I cube it and freeze it putting me that much closer to dinner. I do this with ground beef too. I brown about 6 lbs at a time (in a large soup pot) with a couple onions. I divide and freeze. Again, that much closer to finished dinners!
