PF Changs Half Marathon 2011

I did it! I ran 13.1 miles without stopping in 2 hours and 20 minutes! My original goal was to finish in 2 hrs and 30 minutes without stopping and I beat it by 10 minutes! YEA! Oh my gosh I was so happy! Everyone says you are addicted after you do one and I am. It was a lot of fun! My friend David is one of the best friends I have ever had. He trained with me, motivated me, and stuck with me the entire race! We had a blast running this together! I was pretty nervous because the most that I ran before the race was 10 miles. I can not tell you how accomplished I felt when I ran through the finish line... it was Amazing. There is something about having the people you love cheering you on at the finish. You get this crazy surge of adrenaline and you realize that you can finish this. It was awesome because I did this, I set my mind to a goal and I finished it. This has been a goal that I have wanted to check off my list since I was in high school. As silly as this sounds I got a little teary eyed when I ran across the line. I was just so proud of myself. This past month has been so crazy with balancing family, work, and training and to know that I stuck with this just makes me so happy! Okay okay I am done. Pats Run here I come!

Yay!! You beat MY half marathon time by 6 minutes! Lucky girl. It feels so good to accomplish a goal, doesn't it? Were you able to move the rest of the day?

Congrats on your first half marathon! Running is an addiction, so much more of a mental challenge than a physical one. Anyone that sets their mind to it can do it! And you proved it to yourself and tons of other people. Awesome job! We are running Pat's Run too! We'll have to meet up for sure!
